Job description – Project Manager
We are currently sourcing anEngineering Project Managerto join our team at Air Clear here in Elkton, Maryland. The successful candidate will be required to undertake and simultaneously execute multiple air pollution control projects including Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers, Catalytic Oxidizers, Direct Fire Thermal Oxidizers, andFiberBedFilter Units.
The position requires project development, proposal drafting, project execution, and project closure. At Air Clear, our Project Managers developclient relationships and help to ensure client satisfaction. They do so by managing projects to include a well-defined scope, realistic schedule, and staying within the budget. Strong communication skills are used throughout the project life cycle to manage scope changes, and project risk, communicate to the project team, and assist withclient relations.This is a ‘hands-on position, requiring a detail-oriented Engineer who can select, purchase and direct the installation of all the equipment to meet the customer’s requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Execution (Manufacturing Phase) – Upon award of the contract, the PM will work directly with other engineers and Lead the project team,as well as, be the point of contact for the customer. They will work closely with other engineers to ensure that P.O.’s are written/issued properly. The PM’s role will also require,ensuring that drawings are carefully reviewed and approved with scheduling and contract management being a part of the PM’s responsibility as well. The Project Manager willalso refine and/or update the proposed project schedule, manage component RFQ’s, attend on-site client meetings, track/report budget/schedule, monitor project quality, maintain project files, coordinate design package transmission to clients, manage scope changes, assess project risk, resolve or escalate issues that arise during the manufacturing process, prepare invoices, work with the engineering team to ensure successful project execution.
- Project Closeout – track invoices(s), ensure project completion checklist is complete, and archive project documents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (Preferred)
- PM certification is desirable
- Experience with project management for custom capital equipment business
- Air pollution control equipment experience required
- Understanding of engineering principles in the field of fluid mechanics, industrial fan application, combustion systems, thermal dynamics
- Direct customer experience and project initiative
- Self-motivating with excellent multi-tasking and time management skills
- Professional and technical verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel and hold a current passport
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Project)
The candidate needs to be somewhat fluent with AutoCAD, Excel, Project, and PLC programming software.This position requires a well-rounded Engineer who can design, purchase and supervise the complete installation of the mechanical and electrical portions of the equipment we provide to our customers.
